Sansevieria trifasciata Green Special Care or Planting instructions

  • Light

This plant is highly adaptable and can tolerate a wide range of light conditions. It thrives in bright, indirect light but can also survive in low light, though its growth may slow, and it will not grow as vigorously in dim conditions.

  • Water

As with all snake plants, it's important to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Water every 2–3 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) and reduce watering during the winter months when the plant's growth slows down.

  • Soil

Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix to avoid root rot. A pot with drainage holes is essential to ensure water doesn't accumulate at the bottom of the pot.

  • Temperature and Humidity

Sansevieria trifasciata 'Green' does well in typical indoor temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C–29°C). It's highly tolerant of dry indoor air, making it an ideal plant for homes with low humidity.

  • Fertilizer

Fertilize with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during the growing season. Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is dormant.

  • Propagation

Can be propagated by division or leaf cuttings. Propagation by division is the easiest and most reliable way to create new plants.

  • Air Purification

Like other 'Sansevieria' varieties, Sansevieria trifasciata 'Green' is an excellent air purifier, removing toxins such as formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene from indoor environments.
