Sansevieria trifasciata Moonshine Plant Features

Form and Size: 'Moonshine' grows in an upright, rosette form and typically reaches about 1–2 feet (30–60 cm) in height. Its slender, sword-shaped leaves grow straight and narrow, giving it a refined and minimalist appearance.

Foliage: The leaves of 'Moonshine' are a stunning silvery-green, with a hint of dark green near the base and edges. The leaf color is lighter than typical snake plants, which gives this variety a distinctive "moonlit" appearance. In lower light, the leaves may darken slightly, while bright light helps retain their pale, silvery hue.

Sansevieria trifasciata Moonshine Plant Size:

  • Potted in a 10-20 cm pot
  • The height of the plants and the flower pots can be made to your size.

Sansevieria trifasciata Moonshine Special Care or Planting instructions

  • Light

'Moonshine' thrives in bright, indirect light but is adaptable and can handle low light, though this may cause the leaves to deepen in color. Moderate light is ideal for maintaining its signature light shade.

  • Water

Let the soil dry out completely between waterings, usually once every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer. Reduce watering in winter, as the plant's growth slows during this time.

  • Soil

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as cactus or succulent soil. Like other sansevierias, 'Moonshine' is prone to root rot if kept in dense or overly wet soil.

  • Temperature and Humidity

This plant does well in typical indoor temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C–29°C). It tolerates low humidity, so additional misting isn't necessary.

  • Fertilizer

Feed every 4–6 weeks with a balanced, diluted succulent fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer). Skip feeding in the colder months.

  • Propagation

Propagate easily by division or by leaf cuttings. Offsets (or pups) can be removed and replanted once they've developed their own roots.

  • Air Purification

Like other snake plants, 'Moonshine' improves indoor air quality by removing toxins like formaldehyde, benzene, and xylene.
