Haworthia arachnoidea plant Features

Form and Size: This plant is a small, rosette-forming succulent that typically reaches about 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) in diameter. The rosettes are composed of thick, triangular leaves arranged tightly around a central base.

Leaves: The leaves are dark green to brownish-green and are covered in small, white, web-like spines or hair-like structures, giving it an almost "spider-web" look (hence the species name "arachnoidea"). These spines provide the plant with a unique and slightly fuzzy appearance. The leaf tips are often sharp, adding a geometric appeal to the rosette.

Flowers: Haworthia arachnoidea 'Joubertii' produces slender, tubular, white to pale pink flowers on tall, wiry stalks during the warmer months. The flowers are delicate and add a subtle beauty to the plant when in bloom.

Haworthia arachnoidea plant Size:

  • Potted in a 12-18 cm pot
  • The height of the plants and the flower pots can be made to your size.

Haworthia arachnoidea plant Special Care or Planting instructions

  • Light

Haworthia arachnoidea 'Joubertii' prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, especially in the early morning or late afternoon, but intense, direct sunlight can cause leaf burning or stress. Indoors, a bright window with filtered light works well.

  • Water

Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During its growing season (spring and fall), water slightly more frequently but still conservatively. In winter, reduce watering as it enters a dormant phase.

  • Soil

Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix with added sand or perlite for extra drainage. This plant is prone to root rot if kept in overly wet soil.

  • Temperature

Haworthia arachnoidea 'Joubertii' thrives in typical household temperatures and can tolerate a range of 60-80°F (15-27°C). Avoid exposure to frost or temperatures below 40°F (4°C).

  • Propagation

This plant propagates well by offsetting. The offsets can be gently removed from the parent plant once they are large enough, and replanted in a separate container. Propagation by seed is possible but takes significantly longer.

  • Growth Rate

This Haworthia is a slow grower, and its compact size makes it ideal for small containers or as part of a succulent arrangement.

  • Pests

It is generally pest-resistant but can occasionally attract mealybugs or aphids. Regular inspection and prompt treatment with neem oil or insecticidal soap can help manage pest issues.
